Wang Xing Ji was our favorite restaurant of the day. Known for their enormous crab and pork soup dumpling, this place also makes a killer chicken xioa long bao. It was so freaking flavorful, I couldn’t stop eating them.
We also fell in love with their Green Onion Noodle. at first it looks like a bowl of bland, unsauced noodles but stir that sh*t up and behold the magic elixir that lay pooled at the bottom. These are a must order.
The infamous Giant Pork and Crab dumpling is sort of a mess to eat. You are given straws with which you suck out the innards before you rip apart the flesh.
The crab flavor was a little too strong for me and the entire table agreed that the chicken dumplings were the favorites.
Wang Xing Ji is located in San Gabriel in an enormous NIGHTMARE of a strip mall with crazy difficult parking. We endured three altercations with unruly folks (someone stole our spot, someone took too long leaving their spot and once we finally found a spot, the person parked in front of us asked us to move) so try to come early to avoid the madness.
You may just committ homicide that day…just for some dumplings.
