I look forward to my annual excursion to the Santa Anita racetracks with much fervor.
I look forward to betting my measly $2 dollars on horses with the most creative names
(Still have trouble figuring out the difference between and Exacta and Trifecta…)
I look forward to the copious amounts of cigarette smoke wafting up from the “common” areas into our
beloved “Club House” section (for a whopping $3.50 extra, you can toss your cigarette butts on the
floor with a higher echelon of people.)
I look forward to drinking overpriced beer, pretending I’m interested in that boring statue of Seabiscuit,
and wondering if I should eat a hot dog and risk permanent diarrhea.
Today was a lovely 91 degree day in the desert. I was accompanied by Thelma and Louise and with few
exceptions, we all ended up slightly bitter losers.
But we managed to still have fun and step in oodles of horse crap.
